Fallout 4 has received a next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing with it a new performance mode, fresh Creation Club content, and a hefty list of bug fixes.
The performance mode offers a targeted 60 frames per second at 4K resolution with standard settings, while a quality mode prioritizes visuals with 30 fps at 4K resolution and ultra settings. On a 120Hz display, the quality mode can reach 40 fps, and on a 1440p display, the game will run at 60 fps with ultra settings regardless of the chosen mode.
The update also adds several new Creation Club items, including Enclave Remnants armor and weapons, a Makeshift Weapon Pack featuring cobbled-together weaponry, and a Halloween Workshop with spooky decorations and costumes.
The patch notes address a multitude of bugs, including crashes, quest blockers, and visual glitches. Notably, the update fixes an issue that prevented the Vault 111 door from opening on new games and another that caused Codsworth to get stuck on the ground after fast traveling.
PC players can now enjoy widescreen and ultrawidescreen support, and the game is now Steam Deck Verified. The update is also coming to the Epic Games Store.
