Character.ai, a platform for chatting with AI characters, is experiencing login issues on its mobile app. Reddit is full of threads where users have reported encountering an error message that reads:
Whoa there! You might need to wait a bit. Currently, we are receiving more requests than we are comfortable with! To try your request again, come back in a short while and reload this page
It’s not a new issue, users have been reporting this for the last few months, but recently multiple (1,2) users have reported the same error on the CharacterAI subreddit.
This error message primarily appears when users try to log in to the Character.ai app on mobile devices. And not all the users are facing the same issue at the same time.
Affected users are clueless and getting annoyed by this error message as they are unable to log in to their favorite AI Chatbot app.
The good thing is that developers didn’t take long to acknowledge the issue and mentioned that they are working on restoring the service. In the meantime, suggested users be patient. As per the application server status, the issue has been resolved by the company.
In case, you’re still facing the issue, especially when you’re trying to access it from the mobile app, then, Check if the Wi-Fi or the mobile carrier service is working fine. Also, you may restart your app a few times and check if that helps fix the Character.ai error.
Apart from this, one user mentioned that get managed to access Character.ai by signing in as a guest. And shockingly it worked for other users as well.
Most of the time it occurs on a mobile device, and if you’re also experiencing the issue while using the app, then we recommend, you to use the desktop version of the app until the issue is resolved.
