Recently, Discord rolled out a brand-new UI with a refreshed desktop design and an overhauled overlay. However, many users are unhappy with these changes and want the old UI back. If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re one of them!
Unfortunately, Discord doesn’t offer an official way to revert to the previous interface. But don’t worry—I’ll show you a workaround that can help you restore the old UI using a third-party tool.
⚠ Important Notice: This method involves using an external program, which may go against Discord’s Terms of Service. Use it at your own discretion. That said, many users have been using this tool for a long time without issues.
How to Get the Old Discord UI Back
Download the Vencord Installer
- Head over to the official GitHub page or website and download the setup file.
- Make sure you’re getting it from a trusted source to avoid security risks.
Run the Installer
- Before proceeding, ensure you have installed the Discord desktop app. (If you only use the web version, this method won’t work.)
- Open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Enable the Required Plugin
- Once the installation is complete, open Discord.
- Click on the ⚙️ Settings (Cogwheel Icon) and look for a new Vencord entry. This confirms the installation was successful.
- Navigate to the Plugins tab, search for “Experiments,” and enable it.
Revert to the Old UI
- Restart Discord.
- Go back to Settings > Experiments and search for “Desktop Visuals.”
- Change the dropdown option to “Not Eligible.”
- The old UI should now be restored! 🎉
Keep in Mind
- This is an experimental feature, so some Discord functions might not work properly. If you encounter any bugs, you can report them on GitHub.
- If you ever want to remove Vencord, use the same installer to uninstall it.
