If you landed on this page, you are likely trying to figure out how to make your Windows 11 Taskbar completely invisible or transparent.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has not added a native option in the settings app to achieve this. While there is a “Transparency effects” option in Personalization settings, it only adds a slight blur and doesn’t make the Taskbar fully transparent.
In this video, I will show you how to use a free tool called TranslucentTB to make your Taskbar 100% clear.
The Solution: TranslucentTB
Since Windows 11 doesn’t allow full transparency by default, we need to use a third-party app. The best (and free) solution is TranslucentTB, available directly from the Microsoft Store. It allows you to customize the Taskbar appearance and remove that annoying border.
Here is how to set it up.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Download the App
- Launch the Microsoft Store on your PC.
- Search for “TranslucentTB”.
- Click to open the app page, then download and install it.
Step 2: Launch and Customize
- Open the TranslucentTB app from your Start menu or Windows Search.
- Once running, you won’t see a main window. Instead, go to your System Tray (click the arrow icon on the right side of the Taskbar).
- Click the TranslucentTB (TB) icon to open the menu.
Step 3: Make it Transparent
- From the menu, hover over Desktop.
- Select Clear.
- Result: Your Taskbar will instantly become fully transparent!
Step 4: Remove the Border (Optional)
If you still see a thin line at the top of the Taskbar:
- Open the app menu from the System Tray again.
- Go to Desktop.
- Uncheck the option Show Taskbar border.
How to Go Back to Normal?
If you ever want to bring back the default Windows 11 Taskbar look:
- Open the TranslucentTB menu from the System Tray.
- Select Desktop > Normal.
- Alternatively, you can just select Exit to close the app entirely.
Conclusion
This is the easiest way to get a clean, modern desktop look in Windows 11 without editing complicated registry files. Did this work for you? Let me know in the comments below!
