Microsoft is internally testing a new Volume Mixer in Windows 11 build 25281 accompanied by various sound settings in the Quick Settings Panel.

The New Volume Mixer in the Quick Settings panel in Windows 11 allows users to quickly manage the system sound as well as various apps installed separately on the PC.
For example, if you’re listening to music or watching a video on YouTube, there will be a separate volume slider for Microsoft Edge. Similarly, if you’re listening to Music on Media Player, then there will be a separate volume slider for it as well. Depending on your requirements, you can individually manage the volume of these apps.
Apart from this, you can select an audio output device and turn off/on spatial audio.
How to Enable New Volume Mixer in Windows 11 – 25281
Right now, the new output setting menu in the Quick Settings panel or Volume Mixer is disabled out of the box. In case, you want to try it, then here’s how you can do that:
Download and set up ViveTool on your Windows 11 PC.
Launch the Command prompt with admin rights. For that, click on the Search icon and type CMD, when it Command prompt appears in the search results click to open it.
Here, you need to copy-paste this command: c:\vivetool\vivetool.exe /enable /id:42106010 and hit enter.
Once you get the message successfully set feature configuration, you need to reboot your computer to apply the changes.
After enabling the new Volume Mixer in Windows 11. Here’s how you can access it:
Use WIN + A key combination to open the Quick Settings panel. Here, click on the (Select a sound output).
The new menu will open. Here, you will find an option to select the Audio Output device, Spatial Audio, and the New Volume Mixer.
In case, after enabling the new volume mixer if there’s an issue or something is not working properly, then you can disable it as well using this command: c:\vivetool\vivetool.exe /disable /id:42106010
