If you’ve landed on this blog post, you’re likely facing an issue with Valorant crashing and displaying the following error message:
Connection error
Valorant has encountered a connection error. Please relaunch the client to reconnect.
With error code: VAN 1067.
And when you follow the suggestion, the same thing happens again.
In this blog post, you will learn a quick workaround to resolve this issue. Alright, let’s dive in!
Usually, this error dialog box appears when Riot Vanguard, which is a custom game security software, stops working. To fix the issue, here’s what you need to do:
First, make sure the Riot Client and Riot Vanguard are fully closed. Open the system tray and exit both. If the icons for these two services are not available, then ignore this step.
Click on the Search icon and type Services. When it appears in the search results, click to open it.
In Services, look for VGC.
Right-click on it and select Properties.
Switch to the Log On tab and make sure that the “Local System account” is checked.
After that, switch to the Recovery tab.
Using the drop-down menus next to First Failure, Second Failure, and Subsequent Failures, select Restart the Service.
Next, set the “Restart Service after” value to 0.
Click Apply and OK.
Now close everything.
Search for Valorant and run it as an administrator.
After applying the workaround, if you still see the connection error dialog, it confirms that the solution failed to fix the issue. On the other hand, if you stay connected for the entire match, it confirms that your issue is resolved and you can enjoy the game.
Note: There’s a limitation to this method—you need to apply the same fix every time you play the game.
Try an alternate method:
Open Services and locate VGC.
Right-click on it and select Properties.
Under the General tab, set the Startup type to Automatic.
Click Apply and OK.
After that, run Valorant as an administrator and check if this fixes the issue.
