Epic Games has recently rolled out a v29.10 update for Fortnite. Although it comes with Battle Royal Balanced adjustments. Some users reported that after installing the update, they are unable to play the game as it keeps crashing, as a result, makes the gaming experience annoying.
The Internet is full of reports where users report about Fortnite crashes. One user reported that:
After installing the new update whenever I try to load the game or creative map, game crashes.
Another PS4 users reported:
I can’t load into fortnite after the update” The screen appear with a message that says checking for updates and later crashes.
Another user on the same thread mentioned that he also facing the same issue, he even contacted game support but got no response from them.
Similarly, Reddit is also full of the same reports. One user mentioned that:
My game crashes almost every time I try to launch it, even with the latest graphic drivers”
Another user reported that:
Game crashed whenever trying to start a game while at a party.
For other PS5 users, the game crashes 4 times within about 2 and a half hours.
And it’s possible that if you landed on this blog post you’re also facing something similar when trying to play Fortnite after installing the update.
As of now, game developers haven’t acknowledged and confirmed about similar. Also, there’s no info on what causing crashes after installing the update.
In response to one user report on x, the Fortnite status x handle suggested user:
We recommend verifying that you have the latest GPU drivers installed. With a link where you will find information on how to update graphic drivers.
So try to install the latest graphic drivers. In case, you’re running the latest drivers already, then the only option is to wait for the official words from the game developers.
