PSN Server Status: [Fixed] Source PSN
Are you unable to log into your favorite PS5 games? Seeing error messages like “Timed out checking permissions” or “Unknown error code 4”? You’re not alone! PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently experiencing a major outage, affecting all key services, including Account Management, Gaming & Social, and the PlayStation Store.
Watch the full video below to see exactly what’s happening, how it’s affecting players worldwide, and what you can do about it:
What’s Going On with PSN?
This morning, many players started facing login issues across multiple PS5 games, including Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Marvel Rivals. Initial troubleshooting suggested an internet issue, but further investigation revealed that PlayStation Network was down.
A quick Internet Connection Test on PS5 confirmed the problem, showing a “PlayStation Network Sign-in failed” message. Clicking on “Details” displayed another error message:
“We’re doing some maintenance work on PlayStation Network right now. Please try again later.”
Heading over to the PlayStation Network Status Page, we found that all services were affected, including:
- Account Management: Players can’t sign in, create accounts, or edit details.
- Gaming and Social: Multiplayer gaming and game streaming are down.
- PlayStation Store: Purchasing, browsing, and redeeming vouchers are unavailable.
How Long Will This Last?
As per PlayStation Support, the issue may take 24-48 hours to resolve. At the time of creating this video, PSN has already been down for 5-8 hours, and players are frustrated as it’s ruining their gaming time.
Can You Fix It?
Unfortunately, this is a server-side issue, meaning there’s nothing you can do to fix it. All we can do is wait for PlayStation to resolve the outage.
If you’re facing this problem, let us know in the comments section of the video what game you were trying to play when PSN went down. You might even get some game recommendations while waiting for the servers to come back online!
