Eddy Gordo Locked in Tekken 8! Discover how to access the Capoeira Master and enhance your gameplay experience.
Tekken 8 is the latest installment of the long-running Tekken Fighting Game franchise. It comes with a new aggressive fighting system that rewards for performing offensive tactics. The game uses Unreal Engine 5, completely remodeling characters and environments, making it visually impressive.
Eddy Gordo, the Capoeira Master of the Tekken franchise since its early days, is also available in the game. However, some players complain that Eddy Gordo is locked in Tekken 8. The Eddie Gordo character in Tekken 8 falls under Downloadable Content (DLC). This means that players who didn’t purchase the Deluxe or Premium additions of the game or who haven’t bought Eddy Gordo DLC sold separately will face the locked character when trying to choose him.
Bandai Namco Studios, Tekken 8 developers know Eddy Gordo’s locked status. They announced the character as the first Season 1 playable character before the launch.
This method of offering the most popular character as a DLC helps maintain player engagement and generates revenue for ongoing development. The Eddy Gordo DLC was recently announced for sale on Tekken’s Twitter channel:
Well, there isn’t any way to unlock the Eddie Gordo DLC for free. To do so, you must upgrade to the Deluxe or Premium version of the game, which includes the character and other bonuses. You can also purchase the Eddy Gordo DLC separately, available on the PlayStation, Microsoft Store, Xbox, or Steam Store.
However, if you own Tekken 8’s Deluxe or Premium version and still have Eddy Gordo locked, try deleting your profile on the console, then redownloading it or resetting it.
The locked status of Eddy Gordo could be a significant turn-off for players who prefer playing with his aggressive fighting style and depend on his unique moves to dominate matches. Purchasing the Eddy Gordo DLC depends on your individual preferences and spending habits. Hopefully, the DLC will become free in the future, but there’s no guarantee of when or even if it will happen.
