Fix: An Error Occurred During Signin Camtasia 2023

For some users, the Camtasia 2023 app is not opening. What actually happening is whenever they try to launch Camtasia 2023, they see a dialog box with a message, An error occurs during signin. The full message reads:

An error occurs during signin. If the issue persist, please contact Technical Support for Assistance. With error code Exception thrown. A task was canceled.

Fix: An Error Occurred During Signin Camtasia 2023

Don’t worry in this blog post, I’m going to share an easy solution to fix the issue.

Solution one

Before doing anything else, I suggest users restart their computer as most of the time this issue is resolved by a quick reboot, if this fails to fix the issue, then try the next solution.

Solution two

Most of the time this error message appears when Windows Defender Firewall or VPN connection is blocking Camtasia from being able to reach out to sign-in servers used with a TechSmith account. As a result, it throws an error message. So if you’re using a VPN connection, then try to disable it or check Windows Defender Firewall.

If nothing is wrong with these two things, then try adding an outbound rule for Camtasia 2023. Here’s how you can do that:

Click on the Search icon and type “Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security“, when the same result appears in the search results, click to open it.

Click on the Outbound Rules on the left side.

On the right side, click on the select New Rule.

On the next screen, select Program.

In the “This Program Path“, copy-paste this: %ProgramFiles%\TechSmith\Camtasia 2023\CamtasiaStudio.exe and then click Next.

On the Next Screen, select ‘Allow the connection,’ and then click Next.

At last give the app name, for example, Camtasia 2023, and click Finish.

After that, close everything and restart your computer.

Now try to launch Camtasia Studio and check if this fixes the issue. In case, this fails to fix the issue, then don’t uninstall the product and contact technical support, as they would suggest a better solution.
